This middle school entrepreneurship program is designed to provide teachers professional development and recognize student achievement in applying knowledge in economics, entrepreneurship, and economics. This program is hosted in cooperation with the Oklahoma Council on Economic Education, the WEOKIE Foundation, and the Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives. It will bring credit unions and cooperatives to partner with teachers and schools.
There are three phases of the program. Phase 1 involves teachers and partnering cooperatives attending the teacher training on August 29th. Phase 2 includes teachers providing relevant instruction and students preparing a cooperative business model pitch with cooperative/credit union assistance. Phase 3 is the competition with each teacher/cooperative team bringing five students to present their business plan to a panel of judges.
